Originally developed to haul heavy freight trains over the Pecos Division,
the Santa Fe Railroad locomotive 5000, 2-10-4, was a one-of-a-kind. Nicknamed
"Madame Queen" by the operating crews, this locomotive served
the railroad for many years. Here depicted is how she appeared near the
end of her career as a helper locomotive on Raton Pass.
